The Good Neighbors Network connects Cedar Valley residents with immigrant and refugee neighbors — sharing resources, delivering multilingual news, and building community so no one has to figure it out alone.
Thousands of people have made the Cedar Valley home — from Waterloo to Black Hawk County. They're our neighbors. They work alongside us, send their kids to our schools, and contribute to our community every day. But navigating a new country is hard. Immigration laws change fast. News is confusing. Support can be hard to find. That's where you come in. The Good Neighbors Network is a structured, cross-cultural community connecting Cedar Valley residents with immigrant and refugee neighbors. We share resources, deliver news in multiple languages, and coordinate volunteers. You can engage as little or as much as your life allows. Every level matters.
You're already doing the hard work of keeping your community informed and connected. We want to take some of that weight off your shoulders.
You don't have to do everything. But you can do something.
Immigrant and refugee community leaders are stretched thin. They're volunteers and connectors — fielding questions about legal status, food, clothing, and housing from their neighbors, often with little support of their own. Your donation goes directly to this fund, supporting the people who hold their communities together.
There are many ways to join up! We are looking to create community engagement in multiple areas. Click below for more details.
